Finally. After twenty years, the trademark battle between H&M and adidas is over. The court in The Hague has decided that the Swedish fashion chain has infringed on adidas’ three-stripe brand.
The German sports giant sued H&M over the fact that they had been selling clothing with two parallel stripes over the side of the sleeves and trousers. adidas claims it is trademark infringement, while H&M argues that it is merely decoration.
The court ruling puts an end to a two-decade trademark feud. A very big and important win for adidas, that deals with ‘stripe infringements’ regularly.
