The BMM is the Benelux Association of Trademark and Design Law, an association of trademark attorneys, like the Grur and ITMA.
One of the goals of the BMM is enhancing the quality of knowledge and advice. Trademark attorneys who have successfully completed the BMM course and have several years experience in the profession can call themselves “Certified Trademark Attorneys”. And this year, each trademark attorney has to obtain a number of education points.
Twice a year there is a meeting. This year’s year-end meeting is in a beautiful place in Amsterdam: Eye, the film museum of Amsterdam. The theme for this year is the EU Trademark Package. This package has also some Benelux consequences as a cancellation action will be introduced in the Benelux. For trademark holders good news: court actions can be avoided as the cancellation action can be filed right with the Benelux-Office.
