Probably everybody has (or ever had) a reproduction of a favorite painting. Obviously a copy. In the future it will be harder to tell whether a copy is a fake or an original: it’s time for the new next step, a realistic 3D replica of a painting.
You may assume that a band of counterfeiters would have come up with this idea but no, the 100% realistic paintings are coming from the Van Gogh Museum in collaboration with Fujifilm.
What’s so special about it? Well, in any case, the production process is remarkable as it takes three months to produce one painting. The painting is being built up layer by layer with the exact colours and texture securing that the paining is exactly the same as the original. Even the back of the painting is completely identical with stamps and stickers. You could say that this is a new level of copying.
Interested in your own almost genuine Van Gogh? The price is EUR 25,000.00 per painting.
