Alternative trademarks

Alternative trademarksMany newsworthy events are often followed by trademark applications. And the Trump administration has already caused a flood of news.

Besides the many controversial decisions taken by the new president, one of the phrases that hit the news hard was the term “alternative facts”.

Where many of us only made the distinction between facts and fiction, there appeared to be something in the middle: “alternative facts”.

Two Americans jumped right on the wagon, and applied for a trademark for the phrase “ALTERNATIVE FACTS” (here and here).

The two applications are meant to cover items like ‘bumper stickers, tv programs, clothing, mugs and live news programs related to politics policy and political views’.

There’s a business opportunity in everything: something that must speak to president Trump.
