Tommy Lee is the drummer of the famous band Mötley Crüe. As the show element tends to be more and more important during concerts, this band thought of an exceptional idea to make its concert spectacular: a kind of rollercoaster enabling Lee to drum 360 degrees. The fans are happy, everybody was happy, except one person: Scott Howard Kin. According to Kin he presented his idea of a rollercoaster to the band. He filed a lawsuit because his trade secret was stolen. The judge was less impressed: in his decision a few days ago he dismissed the claim. There was not a secret as Kin had taken insufficient measurements to ensure confidentiality. For example, no non-disclosure agreement has been signed. The judge found that both ideas were developed independently of each other. The judge concluded that “a man who blurts out his idea without having first made his bargain has no one but himself to blame .” Well, that is IP wisdom.
