Elmo is Sesame Street’s furry red “monster”, a three-and-a-half year old lovable character that avoids pronouns, always referring to himself in the third person (e.g. “Elmo has a trademark registration” rather than, “I have a trademark registration”). So cute!
And then there is a Sydney-based DJ Chris Emerson, that goes by the stage name “Elmo Is Dead”. At least, until recently.
After a year long battle with Sesame Street about using the registered trademark ELMO, he has decided to change his name: Elmo Is Dead is now Emoh Instead.
All children can go back to sleep, Sesame Street is happy and DJ Emoh Instead received a lot of publicity.
