The American actor Alfonso Ribeiro withdraws the lawsuit (see our earlier post) filed against Fortnite developer Epic Games.
In the popular battle royale game Fortnite, players can do the ‘Carlton’ dance, which Ribeiro performed in the comedy series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Court documents show that the actor has now dropped the case voluntarily. Last month Ribeiro did not succeed in obtaining copyright for the dance. The dance did not qualify for the rights, because it is “a simple dance routine” and not an extensive choreography.
Ribeiro also filed a lawsuit against developer Take Two, because the Carlton dance was also part of the basketball game NBA2K. The Fresh Prince actor withdrew the charge earlier.
