There is a new app called “Bang with friends”, that lets you… well, you get it. But it may have to change it name if its up to a competitor.
Software company Zynga – the ones behind Farmville – are lawyering up against the makers of the app Bang With Friends. Zynga claims only they can use the phrase ‘with friends’. Zynga owns multiple apps with a similar name, such as “Running With Friends” and “Scramble With Friends”.
The question remains whether it is possible to claim a generic phrase like ‘with friends’. But if Zynga can make a legitimate trademark claim (and they have the money to back it up) “Bang with friends” may have to change its name. “Bang with strangers” maybe?
