Sometimes counterfeit goods may seem like a good way to buy products at a lower costs. But people rarely realise that there could be actual danger involved.
Tests revealed a number of problems with the items including high levels of toxics, detachable small parts that could be a choking hazard, and plastic materials that were too thin and could cause suffocation.
Both the wholesaler and the company manager were fined a total of almost GBP 6,000. The Manager was also ordered to do 200 hours of community service.
