In Trieste, the Adriatic port in Italy, coffee made its first entrance in Europe. Trieste is also the city where Francesco Illy developed the modern espresso machine in 1933.
Espresso is a natural blend of craftsmanship of a barista who knows exactly how a professional espresso machine must be used to get a divine cup of espresso. In order to facilitate the home espresso, and also to benefit from the growing market of coffee cups of course, Illy developed the Iperespresso (left). This machine came on the market in 2007 but feels like a design classic already.
For Illy much reason to protect this beautiful coffee machine as as three-dimensional trademark in the European Union. And recently, the registration was a fact!
