7-Eleven is suing menswear brand Original Penguin.
The world’s largest convenience store retailer claims Original Penguin has copied its iconic private brands, including SLURPEE, SLURPEE LITE, and BRAINFREEZE on clothing. According to 7-Eleven this constitutes “trademark infringement, dilution and unfair competition”.
In its lawsuit, the retailer requested the court to order Original Penguin to stop selling the allegedly infringing products, forfeit all profits, pay monetary damages, pay attorneys’ fees and destroy all products featuring the 7-Eleven marks.
What do you think: infringement, copying a specific graphic style or just a coincidence?
