Summer is coming. Hopefully. Flip flop time! Don’t you just hate it when the front of your flip flop get caught behind a curb of a sidewalk and it tears the strap, leaving you with only one flip or flop (and sore toes)? There is a solution!
Two Dutch guys, Arnaud van der Vecht and Stephen Vehmeijer, from the company Suavesoles, have found a solution. They have patented a invention that not only strengthens your slipper, but also lets you change the strap according to the mood that you’re in, or the summer dress you happen to be wearing that day.
The have presented their idea to Ipanema, Brazil’s largest manufacturer of flip flops. They were not interested. But a few months later the Suavesoles discovered that Ipanema had put a similar product on the market in Brazil.
Ipanema’s attorney claims the idea isn’t new. The Dutch guys have meanwhile registered a patent. The law suit is in a few months. Hopefully, before the summer is over.
